La definición de Alineamiento de Maquinaria se basa en los ejes de rotación de las máquinas que se deben encontrar colineales (un eje de rotación es la proyección del otro), y lo anterior se considera bajo condiciones de operación o de trabajo normales (temperatura, carga y velocidad).
En diversos estudios realizados por usuarios y fabricantes de maquinaria rotativa acoplada por flechas, se ha demostrado que el desalineamiento es la principal causa, de por lo menos el 50% de las fallas en maquinaria rotativa.
Para que una maquinaria funcione a la perfección y sin errores, tiene que haber exactitud. Esa precisión comienza con la alineación de ejes que potenciarán su funcionamiento y permitirán minimizar los fallos durante los procesos. Las principales ventajas son las siguientes:
- Aumentará la eficiencia de la maquinaria, de esta forma hay menos riesgos y/o problemas durante la ejecución de los procesos : No alinear correctamente los ejes o las correas aumentará la cantidad de tensión en las unidades, lo que resultará en una variedad de problemas potenciales
- Incremento de la producción: aumentando la eficiencia de las máquinas y/o equipos.
- Menor gasto de energía eléctrica.
- Al minimizar los fallos y el gasto energético, ahorrarás gastos de producción.
- Cuando una máquina está bien alineada, habrá una reducción de las vibraciones en ejes y tornillos de la base.
- Disminuirán los daños en ejes y tornillos de la base.
